Light Paintings

These are the brainchild of a desire to push the limits my equipment. I have always been enthralled with the technical aspect of what a camera can do, especially a digital one. Without oversimplifying things, we taught a rock to see. I think about that all the time as I work, and these are my experiment in what sensations that rock is capable of portraying. All light paintings are created with little more than a DSLR and a state of flow.

Tarot

The Tarot deck is a series born of Samhain. It is my largest project to date and focuses on the beautiful people and places of my home state, North Carolina. They embody the Tarot as I see fit to become part of a full deck and complete series. Drawing inspiration from many decks and other sources, this series is a love letter to the people and places I have called home. It is my goal that this the next iteration of the collective consciousness.

RAIN

RAIN is the product of a decade perpetuated by fear of abandonment and longing. This series is both an expression of the human ethos and a desire to become myself. Rain is a distraction, an othering. It isolates subject under the cold sensation of getting caught out in the rain. A sensation familiar to us all. RAIN strips the subject of color and cloth alike creating a haunting representation of our most private and authentic selves.
